Patricia Poetis plans the targeted local level of care through contact with Pakistani officials, local institutions and through dialogue with local residents. On-going communication is key to determining the exact needs of each particular project. Careful analysis, supported by Pakistani experts in medicine, health-care and architects, is needed to determine equipment requirements and layout of the facilities.
Three cornerstones play an essential and vital role in the implementation of the projects:
- Establishment of mother-child health-care facilities in regions with a high birth rate by either renovation of existing facilities or the construction and equipping of new ones.
- Securing medical care for mothers and infants by providing cost-coverage for personnel and consumable materials.
- Setting up of money-transfer systems for extraordinary and complicated cases in order to take the necessary steps in large health-care facilities.
